Sometimes, second chances look a little bit different. This was the case for Dorrie.

The Saint-Boniface Museum is located in an over 180 year old building. The building is amazing, but due to its age, it is easy for rodents to find their way in. Emilie and the staff found out about our Barn Buddies program and wanted to see if they could find a fit that would help them and an animal in need. That’s when they met Dorrie.

Dorrie was a great cat, but he liked his alone time. He needed to find a living situation where he could be free to roam and not be overwhelmed by too much attention. The museum was a great fit. During his time at the Saint-Boniface Museum, Dorrie has really come out of his shell. Not only does he keep the museum pest free, he also provides a morale boost to the staff.

“It’s important to find different solutions for those animals. If we put them to work, and that gives them a better life and a place to live and food, then I think that’s really important than spending their entire life in a shelter because they aren’t the ideal cuddly cat.”

The heroes in our Barn Buddies program have helped us save countless animals. You can be a hero too by donating today. Your help allows us to keep our fosters well equipped and ready to provide second chances. Be a hero to an animals today!
