Come learn about volunteering as a vet or vet tech with the WHS’ One Health program. The One Health team will present about the purpose of the program, its goals and services, as well as the logistics of working at a remote clinic. Participants will be able to get a firsthand look at the equipment used for clinics, as well as tour of the shelter.

Monthly Volunteer Profile: Liubava Hlavati

Winnipeg Humane Society volunteer Liubava Hlavati feels so passionate about animals that she intends to make them a huge part of her life in the very near future. Liubava (who says ‘call me Liu’) came to Canada from war-torn Ukraine two years ago and has been volunteering at the WHS clinic since November 2023 as a surgery assistant. It’s a step on a path towards a career in veterinary medicine. She took her first year of university in Ukraine before coming to Canada with her mother.
