The Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) and Good Neighbour Brewing Company are launching Pet Pal Pilsner, featuring the winners of Pets on Pints, June’s WHS fundraiser which offered a chance for pet owners to have their dog, cat, or critter featured on a limited-edition Good Neighbour beer can.

Bunsen, Too, Brewski, and Oslo were the top dogs (and cat) out of the 1,400+ entrants, who helped raise more than $114,000 for the animals in the WHS’ care. Each winner will have their very own can of Pet Pal Pilsner; a crisp, clean refreshing Pilsner crafted for the good times. Five per cent of the sales from the beer will be donated to the WHS.

“We were blown away by the response to the Pet on Pints fundraiser and are so grateful to everyone who entered, voted, and shared. We also can’t thank Good Neighbour enough for creating these incredible cans. What an awesome prize for our winners, along with being another way to support the animals in the shelter and our community,” says Jessica Miller, CEO of the WHS.

The beer will be officially launched at the Good Neighbour-Hood Pet Parade, happening Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Good Neighbour Brewing Co. (110 Sherbrook Street). Along with a parade, where pets will strut down the street to the tunes of DJ K Chedda, there will be pet portraits, a mini market, and of course, beer.

Cans of Pet Pal Pilsner will be available at Good Neighbour Brewing starting on Wednesday, July 17, until they sell out.
