This year’s World Rabies Day theme is One Health! Did you know that humans can also contract rabies and that it is fatal once symptoms start to appear? At the Winnipeg Humane Society, we want to make sure that both you and your pet are protected against zoonotic diseases like rabies, by making sure your pet is up-to-date on their vaccines. By protecting your pet against rabies, you are also protecting yourself and your community. We want pets, people, and communities to be healthy, which is why we are so passionate about One Health at the WHS!

To celebrate World Rabies Day, we are offering free rabies vaccines for your pets on September 28, 2022 between 11am-2:45pm here at the Winnipeg Humane Society***. Registration will be available until September 18th and spots will fill up quickly, so register as soon as possible!

***Please note that we will only be administering vaccines and parasite control to dogs and cats only. We will offer rabies and parasite control to dogs and cats; parvo/distemper to dogs; and FVRCP to cats. We will not be able to examine your pet for any health concerns at this event. If your pet is experiencing any of the following symptoms: lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, nasal discharge, or fever, please do not come to the WHS and bring your pet to your veterinarian as soon as possible.
