SafePet helps individuals leaving abusive partners by providing temporary housing for their pets.

Every day, people across Manitoba leave their abusive partners. The decision to leave home often saves their lives and the lives of their children. Deciding to leave, and then actually doing so, is not easy. Studies have shown that a significant number of people delay their decision to leave a partner because of their pet.

If you are a crisis shelter seeking pet foster parents on behalf of people entering your shelter, contact us at 204-982-2021. The process is confidential. As a safety measure for both the abused individual and volunteers, the individual’s identity is never disclosed.
