Since 2021, the Canada Animal Welfare Scorecard has evaluated the animal

welfare commitments, transparency, and progress of some of the most influential

food companies in Canada including Loblaws, Tim Horton’s, A&W, and Kellogg’s.

The 2023 edition of Canada’s Animal Welfare Scorecard finds that Canadian food

companies and Canada’s animal agriculture industries continue to fall behind other

countries regarding progress on ending some of the most egregious animal production methods. While notable exceptions exist, the overall trend is alarming.
