WHS Clinic

The WHS shelter clinic cares for thousands upon thousands of animals annually.

The Winnipeg Humane Society shelter clinic operates with three full-time and several part-time and contract veterinarians who examine, treat and perform surgery on animals from all over Manitoba.

The clinic is primarily used for the medical care of shelter animals, including adoptable pets, foster animals, and animals in rehabilitation. It provides medical care as basic as routine physicals, or as complicated as a limb amputation or major, life-saving surgeries.

The Winnipeg Humane Society medical team performs between 5,000 and 6,000 spay and neuter surgeries annually, either for WHS adoptable pets, or through our Subsidized Spay and Neuter Program (SNAP).
